AdHocNets 2017 will be held in Niagara Falls, Canada.

 

Currency

Currency can be exchanged at banks or at currency exchange stations. Some hotels and other merchants accept foreign currency, but it is recommended that visitors exchange currency before they arrive.

Public Transportation

 

Niagara Falls Transit operates the municipal bus system in Niagara Falls, and has routes throughout the city. Fares are $2.75 for adults, $2.50 for seniors and students 13-19, $1.50 for 6-12 and free for under 5. Buses operate from 6am to 6pm.

Niagara Regional Transit operates the inter-city bus system between Niagara Falls, St.Catharines, Thorold and Welland with links to Port Colborne and Fort Erie. Fares are $6 and free for under 6. Buses operate from 7am to 9pm.

And the WEGO Visitor Transportation System connects accommodations and Niagara Falls tourist areas. Rates for the WEGO are for unlimited use: 24 hour pass $7.50 (adults), $4.50 (6-12 years) and free for 5 and under. 

 

 

Tipping 

 

Gratuities are seldom included in Canadian restaurants. It is customary to tip approximately 15-20% on the total bill before tax, 5-10% for poor service, 25% for exceptional service. It is also a good idea to tip in hotels. Tipping is also customary for other service providers such as hairdressers, manicurists, aestheticians and taxi drivers. In these cases the percentage of tip is really up to the individual, but 10% minimum is common.
